Having cooking skills can bring great benefits to one's long-term health. By understanding the basic skills and knowledge of cooking, one can have a better judgment towards the choices of food that they consume. Awareness about food hygiene and nutritional intake is very important to be taught to children from an early age because it can foster their awareness to pay more attention to the quality of food consumed now until later when grow up. Inviting children into the kitchen is a positive activity, because the practical cooking experience (hands on-active learning) has been shown to change children's behavior and views about food.
